Physical activity helps to keep you well. Exercising regularly at a pace that is safe and in an environment where it is fun, can reduce the severity of health issues, improve the management of chronic illnesses and allow you to build confidence and involvement in social life. Good exercise attendance can improve flexibility, balance and build strong bones, helping prevent falls in later life. Carried out regularly, exercise can improve sleep, increase your energy and ability to keep up with your daily activities. It can lower your blood pressure and cholesterol and improve diabetes and weight management.

ActiveStrongerBetter (ASB) is the program in the Newcastle region, helping people and health professionals make safe and appropriate exercise choices
